Since our founding, we have infused a refined sense of beauty—centered on elegance—into menswear, and have continued to propose impeccable styles that transcend time from Christian Dior. Here, we would like to introduce a special piece.

This exceptional item is a distinguished tuxedo jacket, unmistakably made in the spirit of MONSIEUR PRESTIGE.

The outer fabric is made from 100% wool of the finest quality, with a subdued black that softly absorbs light and enhances the crisp, well-bred character appropriate for formalwear. By pairing it with a lustrous black satin peak lapel, a beautiful contrast is created between the matte wool and satin sheen, delivering a quietly understated yet unmistakably radiant presence throughout.

The peak lapels, sharply extending toward the chest, create a three-dimensional look at the lines from the shoulder to the chest, while the overall body is elegantly streamlined with constructed detailing. The single-breasted front avoids excessive decoration, and is finished with classic black buttons, preserving the inherent dignity of a tuxedo while making it easy to incorporate as an everyday jacket.

At the cuffs, four buttons are arranged neatly in order, and flap pockets are placed on both sides—achieving a balance between formality and practicality as dresswear. The pocket construction, tailored with straight, precise lines, and the vertical lines flowing from the lapels down to the hem form a beautiful silhouette that makes the wearer look streamlined when worn.

Inside, a fully lined jacquard lining with the CD monogram throughout is used. Even in areas not visible from the outside, careful attention has been paid to the kind of artistry characteristic of Christian Dior. The lining is made of a blended material of 46% polyester, 41% cupro, and 13% silk, providing a smooth feel in the sleeve and a tasteful, modest sheen. The monogram that appears only when worn is an appeal typical of luxury apparel from that era—where aesthetic sensibility is hidden within the inner tailoring rather than displaying a large brand logo.

Further enhancing the value of this piece are the Christian Dior MONSIEUR PRESTIGE inscription on the main tag and the paper tag reading Christian Dior MONSIEUR remaining inside the pocket. The product specification tag lists NO. F1110, A6, 96-83-175, and information that the outer fabric is 100% wool. Inside, you will also find size notations based on the former JIS standard and outdated laundry symbols. The size notation 96-83-175 indicates bust, waist, and height under the Japan-specific standards of the time—showing that the product was designed for the domestic market, differing from modern imported garments.

The era is around 1985 to 1999, particularly placing it within Japan’s domestic licensed period from the late 1980s through the 1990s. The basis for this includes the line notation of Christian Dior MONSIEUR PRESTIGE, the domestic licensing company code by Kanebo—Y-TK-03—along with the former JIS size 96-83-175, and the fact that outdated laundry symbols are consistent across a single piece. It also aligns with the timeline in which, from the 2001 autumn/winter season onward, menswear listings shifted to Dior Homme. From the combination of tags and specifications as well, this piece is clearly positioned as a vintage line introduced before DIOR as known today.

This is a licensed product planned by Kanebo, not a work created as an individual piece by a personal artistic director in Paris, but one that concretely brought the dignity of Christian Dior MONSIEUR to life as menswear within Japan at the time. While adapting to Japan’s body type standards and quality labeling, brand elements such as the CD monogram lining, satin lapels, and the wool tailoring are carefully incorporated. The unique added value lies in the background where French luxury and the formalwear culture in Japan at the time intersected.

As part of the MOOD special collection, this is not merely a black jacket. It is a piece through which you can incorporate into everyday life the structured tailoring characteristic of menswear from the late 1980s through the 1990s, as well as the aesthetic sensibility of dresswear that Christian Dior cultivated. It is especially recommended for those who like distinguished, formal attire, for those who want to add a touch of formal tension to their usual style, and for anyone who wishes to enjoy the beauty of tailoring regardless of gender.

For styling, you can pair it with a dress shirt and slacks for a traditional, elegant look. Alternatively, by deliberately leaving the tie off and combining a simple shirt with leather shoes, you can create a mode-like balance that fits naturally into daily life. If worn layered under a long coat, the glossy lapels and the structured feel of the shoulders become striking accents. And even when worn by women as a jacket, the beauty of tailoring that wraps the body stands out clearly. This is a MOOD piece with a background and dignity we would like to deliver to those who do not want formalwear reserved only for special occasions, but instead wish to incorporate it quietly into everyday styling.

Please take this opportunity.
