由產品染色帶來深邃的煙灰色，賦予洗練的棉料靜謐的陰影，構造接近輕快的單層設計，僅保留裁縫的骨架，這件COMME des GARÇONS HOMME 2002年春夏代表作完美展現了這一點。
完美體現了當時HOMME追求的“工裝與裁縫的折衷”，翻領設計纖細挺立，三扣前襟營造出縱向節奏感，翻蓋口袋則靜靜地增添實用性語彙。
由顏料後染所產生的色差感，會在縫線與邊緣描繪出細微的色彩變化，光線角度的變化也會讓色調的細膩感搖擺不定，即使是同色系的搭配也不會顯得平淡。袖子採用三扣設計，手部動作更為緊湊，背部的皺褶讓布料的呼吸感得以展現，穿得越多，立體感越深的設計。
將裏布減至最低的輕盈構造，不會妨礙體溫與外界空氣的流通，產品染色工藝帶來的柔和垂感自然修飾肩線的表情，即使隨意披掛也能展現出端莊的氣質。2002年春夏的“完成後再進行加工定型”的設計思想，已廣泛滲透於後來的時尚潮流中，現在正是作為檔案展現其價值的最佳時機。
