Founded in 1910 in New York, TRIFARI is known as a symbol of the golden age of American costume jewelry. We are pleased to present a piece with exquisite mid-century-inspired decor.
From the Crown Trifari copyright stamp that can be seen within the rectangular cartouche on the reverse side of the pendant, this vintage piece is estimated to have been produced from 1955—when copyright notices began to be widely used in American costume jewelry—up until around the late 1960s. It possesses a truly convincing charm as a vintage item.
This is a long-type pendant necklace finished in a warm gold tone. Although no material markings can be confirmed, the light, glamorous flair characteristic of costume jewelry, likely made on a gold-plated base metal, comes through clearly. The three-dimensional feel of the rope-woven chain creates natural shadows from the neckline down toward the chest.
At the center, a long, large pendant is featured, and slender openwork decorative elements are also arranged on both sides.
