Beginning in 1837 as a Paris harness workshop and expanding its craftsmanship and dedication to materials into everyday attire, HERMÈS offers a refined piece crafted from extra-fine merino wool.
The material label lists LANA MERINO EXTRA FINE, MERINO WOOL EXTRA FINE, and LAINE MERINOS EXTRA FINE, confirming it is made of 100% extra-fine merino wool. The deep brown color beautifully highlights the fine knit, and when it catches the light, a natural sheen comes through—an appealing, understated look.
The neckline is a basic crew neck, finished with rib knitting of an appropriate thickness along the collar. Ribbing is also applied to the cuffs and hem to shape the garment, delivering a level of knitwear craftsmanship that you can feel even within its simple design.
The body width allows comfortable ease without clinging too closely to the body. Considering the Italian-made extra-fine merino wool specifications, the Japanese care label for Japan, and the product code SW205, the garment is estimated to date from the 1990s to the early 2000s.
