Founded in Paris in 1837 as a harness workshop, Hermès has continued to produce many masterpieces based on craftsmanship and a deep understanding of materials. Here, we introduce a superb piece that elevates the brand's core symbol into a sculptural form, featuring the horse motif.

This exquisite piece depicts the horse, an essential symbol in Hermès' history, in a three-dimensional sculptural form. It is not just a motif as a symbol but is intricately detailed, capturing muscle bulges, cheek fullness, ear positioning, and eye expressions, giving it the presence of a small sculpture despite being an accessory.

The surface is not mirror-polished but features a fine matte texture with subtle unevenness, which scatters light softly rather than reflecting it evenly, giving it an elegant shine. This texture makes the three-dimensional form of the horse stand out even more. Additionally, the edge of the neck bears the inscription "HERMÈS PARIS" along with "BIJOUTERIE FANTAISIE," which is characteristic of the period when Hermès produced non-precious metal accessories, making this a notable feature of this piece.

The inscription "BIJOUTERIE FANTAISIE" literally means "fantasy jewelry," and it was a widely used mark on costume jewelry lines that Hermès developed from the late 1980s to the 1990s. It has been rarely used on accessories from the 2010s onward. Considering the characteristics of this mark and font, as well as the slightly deep-toned color and thick finish typical of gold-plated jewelry from that era, this piece is highly likely to have been manufactured between around 1988 and the late 1990s, making it a reliable archive.

The horse motif is the purest symbol of Hermès and also represents the very history of the brand's establishment as a harness workshop. Especially in the 1990s, around 1993 when the horse was the annual theme, many accessories featuring the horse motif were produced, and accessories with sculptural horse heads as the main feature have been highly regarded not just as decorations but as pieces that embody the brand's roots.

On the back of the head, there is a small ring designed to be used as a charm or pendant top, making it versatile to attach to necklace chains or bracelets, which is also attractive. Despite its small size, the sculptural design gives it a strong presence, and when worn, it functions as a subtle eye-catching accent.

For styling, pairing a structured jacket or a simple shirt with a necklace is recommended to add a touch of Hermès elegance to a subtle outfit, and adding charms to calm, refined knits or neat coats can create a style that subtly incorporates playful elements into a classic look. It is a superb piece that quietly incorporates the brand's symbol of a horse, which is at the core of Hermès.
