This is a standout work coat from CDG in collaboration with Molinel, where the practicality of French workwear intersects with the reimagining of everyday wear so characteristic of COMME des GARÇONS.
Made with ivory-tinged white cotton, it is tailored into a long silhouette with just the right amount of structure and a smooth surface. By combining a notch lapel reminiscent of a tailored jacket with practical pockets typical of workwear, it achieves both neatness and functionality at once.
On the front, multiple buttons are arranged, and the placket flowing from the chest to the hem emphasizes vertical lines. The pocket design also differs between the left and right sides—flap chest pockets and oversized patch pockets positioned low on the waist add a visual shift to an otherwise simple appearance.
The raglan sleeves provide a roomy fit from the shoulders through to the sleeves, softening the shoulder line while remaining well-suited for thicker inner layers. On the back, large logo prints for CDG and COMME des GARÇONS are applied, creating a brand-forward presence from behind in contrast to the more restrained impression of the front.
At the neckline, Molinel’s woven tag and CDG’s brand tag are set side by side, with a size marked as L. Since it includes the notation AD2017, the item can be determined to be from the 2010s, particularly around 2017.
