シャネルらしい重厚なシグネチャー美学と、90年代後半のモード精神を見事に反映したこちらの逸品。
1997年秋冬コレクションのアーカイブにあたるリングであり、当時のシャネル・アクセサリーが持つ装飾性と存在感をそのまま指元に宿しています。
特徴的なのは、リング全体に刻まれた立体的な縁取りと、それに沿うように敷き詰められたラインストーン。単に煌めきを与える装飾にとどまらず、輪郭そのものを彫刻的に浮かび上がらせるよう設計されており、指に通した瞬間、ジュエリーというよりもアートピースのような印象を与えます。
そして中央にあしらわれたダブルCモチーフは、通常のフラットなロゴとは異なり、台座からわずかに浮き上がるような高低差を持ち、リング全体に陰影と奥行きをもたらしています。あえて細身に設計されたアームとのコントラストが、フォルム全体を引き締め、造形的な美しさを際立たせています。
1997年AWは、カール・ラガーフェルドによる“シャネルコードの再解釈”が顕著に見られたシーズンであり、このリングもまた、コスチュームジュエリーの枠を超えた彫刻的なアプローチを象徴するプロダクトと言えます。
また、現行のプロダクトにはないシルバー基調の仕上げと、どこか燻んだようなアンティーク加工が施されたストーンの質感も、この時代特有の手仕事の名残を感じさせる美点の一つです。
